Verdict
Angélica García Vázquez has delivered reference-caliber arroqueño and a credible cuishe in the Luneta range; her tobalá here is the least of her portfolio. At the wider end of the 48-50% proof range the bottle is adequate; at the narrower end it's the agave's standard work rather than the maestra's upper register. Buy her arroqueño first; this tobalá is her second-best.
A maestra's name on a quieter bottle than her best
Tasting notes
Nose: Honey, then green melon, a light floral note, wet stone
Palate: Tobalá at 48-50% should read with full aromatic altitude; at the lower end of that band this bottling reads correct but unremarkable, and the maestra's name tracks better on her arroqueño work. The potatorum signature is present, if muted
Finish: Medium-long, drying, floral
The bottom line
The weakest of García Vázquez's Luneta bottlings
