Verdict
Commit. The verde-chino is the Luneta bottle that best demonstrates Navarro's editing hand and San Luis Potosí's argument for being read on its own terms. At 48-49% the two salmiana sub-varietals work in counterpoint rather than blur, and the bottle hits as a master ensamble in a category usually smoothed for easier sale. Hunt it; Navarro's name on a Luneta label is a signal.
Navarro's SLP vocabulary at its clearest
Tasting notes
Nose: Sharp green pepper, then warm stone, cool mineral, corn silk
Palate: At 48-49% the verde and chino salmiana sub-varietals present as distinct voices, the verde sharper, the chino rounder – and Navarro has edited them into a composition that reads with uncommon clarity. The SLP dialect is fully audible
Finish: Peppery, river rock
The bottom line
The best Navarro Luneta we've tasted. Commit
