Verdict
Commit. Cirial at 52.86% is the sort of bottle a serious producer makes when they trust both the agave and their buyer, and Macurichos has trusted both. The karwinskii character is amplified without being distorted, and the bottle plays as a reference for what high-proof single-karwinskii work can achieve. Think of it next to Los Ocotales' cirial at 46%: same commitment, different register. Hunt both.
Cirial at proof most producers wouldn't risk
Tasting notes
Nose: Sharp green pepper, wet stone, dry mint, a cool mineral lift
Palate: 52.86% is a proof level most producers wouldn't ship cirial at, and Macurichos has used it to concentrate rather than distort – the karwinskii's vegetal-slate-tinged signature is emphatic, alive, uncompressed
Finish: Drying, peppery. Stays very long
The bottom line
Reference high-proof cirial. Commit
