Verdict
Macurichos' coyote salvaje at 58% is one of the clearest high-proof wild-americana bottlings we've tasted. The agave's pine-and-herb signature is fully amplified at still-proof weight, and the production is disciplined enough to keep the coyote audible rather than ethanol-washed. Think of it next to the better Mal Bien coyote releases.
Coyote at still proof – amplified, not cleaned up
Tasting notes
Nose: Sharp pine resin with green tomato, warm stone
Palate: 58% is above the standard coyote proof, and Macurichos has used the ABV as concentration – the coyote's pine-herb signature is amplified, not scorched. The wild-harvested character shows up as an uncompromising vegetal weight
Finish: Cooling, peppery – very long
The bottom line
High-proof wild coyote. Buy when seen
