Verdict

Commit. The largo trecho tobaziche-tepextate at 53% is one of Macurichos' clearest compositional achievements – two aromatic agaves proofed and edited so both remain audible. Think of it next to the best Real Minero or Lalocura ensamble work: top-tier, deliberately composed, worth cellaring. Hunt the Macurichos name across bottles; this is a producer at the top of the artisanal-small-producer curve.

Two aromatic agaves sharing a single register

Tasting notes

Nose: Cool menthol – then crushed mint, green pepper, wet stone

Palate: 53% is the proof where both karwinskii-vegetal (tobaziche) and marmorata-aromatic (tepextate) can stay distinct without one swallowing the other. Macurichos has edited the blend so that the tepextate carries the altitude and the tobaziche holds the base

Finish: Cooling, herbal – very long

The bottom line

Reference aromatic ensamble. Commit
