Verdict
Commit. Puntas arroqueño at 63% is the kind of bottling that exists for drinkers who already know what arroqueño sounds like at regulation proof and want to hear what it does when turned all the way up. Macurichos has delivered the agave in amplified form without ethanol-washing it, and the bottle sits in reference territory. Think of it next to Lalocura's rarest arroqueño work. Hunt it, add water if you want, but own it.
Still-head arroqueño – the agave turned up to its ceiling
Tasting notes
Nose: Dense chocolate, warm stone, cracked pepper, dried plum
Palate: 63% is still-head weight and Macurichos has used it to amplify arroqueño's most defining qualities – the americana's mineral-sweet density, the chocolatey depth, the slow-opening structure. The puntas cut isn't cleaning up the agave; it's concentrating it
Finish: Enormous, warming, chocolatey
The bottom line
Reference puntas arroqueño. Hunt it
