Verdict
Ensambles from Sonora are rare and this one argues for why they should exist more often. Ramón Miranda's pacifica-yaquiana blend at 46.7% is cleaner than most single-agave bacanoras at the same price, hunt it. If you only know mezcal through Oaxaca, this bottle is the corrective. Closer to what Derrumbes Sonora aims at than most.
Sonora in a glass – unsentimental, built from sun and rock
Tasting notes
Nose: Creosote, then lime zest, warm granite, desert flowers
Palate: 46.7% through copper and steel, pacifica and yaquiana together read drier and more structured than either alone. Miranda keeps the blend lean; the lechuguilla adds a bitter-herb lift
Finish: Dry, mineral, long
The bottom line
The Sonoran ensamble worth your attention
