Verdict
Felipe Cortés is the father of Ageo and the Mengoli house signature runs through both, hunt either name. This bicuishe is leaner than most karwinskii bottlings you'll meet, and the refrescador technique gives it an austerity that some drinkers read as purity. Closer to what Jolgorio aims at than most. Pour it neat.
Mengoli de Morelos doing karwinskii on its own terms
Tasting notes
Nose: Cold melon. Then wet rock, green herb, faint chalk
Palate: Refrescador distillation pulls a cleaner line than copper can – Felipe Cortés lets the bicuishe's cooler, more angular karwinskii expression read without copper's rounding. At 47% the structure holds
Finish: Mineral, cold, long
The bottom line
A patient, mineral karwinskii from a house worth tracking
