Verdict
Of the three Guerrero cupreata bottles in this Melate series, Faustino Castro Bello sits between Benigno's reference-grade bottle and Erasto's louder version – hunt this one for the balance. Papalote doesn't need to be yelled at to land; Faustino knows it. Closer to 5 Sentidos restraint than the typical Bozal Guerrero.
The middle Guerrero pick – balanced, legible, fair price
Tasting notes
Nose: Wild honey, green pepper, damp earth, faint pine
Palate: 47.3% is the sweet spot for Guerrero papalote and Faustino lands in it – the agave's wild character stays lifted, the mineral cut is clean, no proof noise
Finish: Warming, softly floral. Long
The bottom line
The balanced Guerrero pick of the trio
