Raul Pedraza Padilla's alto – the mid-weight Michoacán pick
Score: 4.0/5 agaves
- Producer: Maguey Melate

Verdict
Raul Pedraza Padilla's inaequidens works as the calmer Michoacán bottle in the Melate catalog – reach for it if Miguel Ortiz's 53% release reads hot. Both producers are worth tracking for mapping the state. Closer to what Derrumbes Michoacán achieves at its most restrained. A good second bottle in a Michoacán flight.
The patient Michoacán alto – softer register, same lineage
Tasting notes
Nose: Pine, dried pear, warm stone, faint smoke
Palate: Filipino-still inaequidens at 45% – Raul Pedraza Padilla runs his alto at a more moderate proof than Miguel Ortiz, and the bottle accordingly reads gentler. The Michoacán signature still comes through clearly
Finish: Resinous, warming – long
The bottom line
The patient Michoacán bottle. Good flight anchor
