Verdict
Ageo Cortés's refrescador-distilled madrecuishe is a committed interpretation, hunt it if you like karwinskii pulled toward mineral austerity. His barreño in the same catalog is the peak of his refrescador work, but this is a close cousin. Closer to what Jolgorio's most restrained karwinskii achieves. Track both Ageo bottles.
Madrecuishe through refrescador – austerity as a choice
Tasting notes
Nose: Wet stone, green melon, cold air, faint citrus
Palate: Ageo Cortés pulls the madrecuishe cleaner than copper could. The karwinskii reads cold and austere, which some drinkers will love and others will find thin; refrescador at 50.1%
Finish: Cold, dry
The bottom line
Austere madrecuishe. His barreño is the pick
