Verdict
Pichomel is the kind of marmorata nobody writes about because nobody sees it, and Rosa Hernández Flores is one of the few maestras keeping it in rotation. Her bottle drinks like a wild tepextate with better posture, every floral move is anchored by stone, every peppery flare lands clean. Buy this one and skip the next tepextate anyone tries to sell you for twice the money.
Rosa Hernández Flores is doing something Matatlán cannot do
Tasting notes
Nose: Wet limestone, white pepper, crushed jasmine, warm butter, dried chamomile
Palate: Oily and mineral at 47.9% – Rosa's pichomel plays like a tepextate that grew up near a cave, floral up top, saline underneath, with a resinous mid-palate that refuses to thin out
Finish: Stony, faintly medicinal
