Verdict
Most tepextate bottles we love are about florals driving over mineral; Semei García Ramos's release leans fruit-forward in a way that's genuinely distinctive. Not the best tepextate on this table, but a real data point, you learn the agave better by drinking five very different cuts of it than by drinking one famous one five times. A useful bottle.
Tepextate from the fruit side of the mountain
Tasting notes
Nose: Ripe apricot, crushed white flower, wet limestone, sweet pepper
Palate: 46.7% with the warmer, rounder character you get from La Pila, more fruit than florals, still anchored in stone, a tepextate you can drink instead of sip
Finish: Soft, fruit-forward. Long
The bottom line
A fruit-forward tepextate worth the comparison
