Verdict
After tasting several tequilana bottles in this set, the Victor and Emanuel Ramos release is the one we'd keep. 48.8% does for tequilana what 48% did for Dixeebe's espadín – lifts it from competent to confident. It's the rare case where a father-and-son handoff audibly strengthens the liquid.
Tequilana the Ramos family way – and it's the way
Tasting notes
Nose: Bright pineapple with cooked pepper, light mineral
Palate: 48.8% gives the tequilana the backbone it always wanted – Victor and Emanuel Ramos's cut keeps the fruit top notes intact while anchoring the mid with refrescador clarity, no sweetness that isn't earned
Finish: Clean, gently fruity
The bottom line
The tequilana to own
