Verdict
Cuishe at 45% is not a proof we usually get excited about for karwinskii, but Celestino Sernas's Matatlán cut is cleanly enough done that the bottle still delivers legible agave character. Not a reference, just a reliable cuishe worth owning if you want Matatlán karwinskii without hunting for higher-proof Miahuatlán versions. A honest bottle.
Cuishe that earns its shelf at 45%
Tasting notes
Nose: Green pepper. Then wet grass, crushed mineral, soft earth
Palate: 45% of copper cuishe from Matatlán – Celestino Sernas delivers a clean, dry karwinskii that drinks above its proof thanks to disciplined cutting
Finish: Dry, slate-tinged
The bottom line
A clean everyday cuishe
