Verdict
Mama Chuy is less famous than Mal Bien in the U.S. market but Ageo Cortés shows up under both names and the bottles are cousins in spirit. This arroqueño-bicuishe at 48% has the same architectural clarity as his three-agave Mal Bien ensamble, tighter in scope, just as composed. Commit. Honor the maestro.
A two-agave ensamble that earns its label
Tasting notes
Nose: Dark cocoa, green pepper, crushed mineral, wild herb, warm earth
Palate: 48% of refrescador blending – the arroqueño americana density meets the bicuishe karwinskii lift and every note has room to breathe, the Cortés signature is unmistakable
Finish: Dry, layered – very long
The bottom line
Commit. One of the best two-agave ensambles in circulation
