Verdict
Casimiro Pérez's San Luis Amatlán bicuishe makes a useful foil to the Cortés Miahuatlán version in the Mal Bien catalog, same agave, adjacent villages, different mezcalero hands. At 47% it's proofed right for bicuishe and the cut is clean. A solid Mama Chuy entry in the karwinskii family. Buy alongside the Cortés for village-style comparison.
Bicuishe in a gentler accent
Tasting notes
Nose: Green pepper, wet grass, crushed mineral, faint floral
Palate: 47% of refrescador bicuishe, less muscular than the Cortés version at 48.75%, warmer-toned from San Luis Amatlán's idiom, still legible karwinskii throughout
Finish: Dry, wet slate, long
The bottom line
A measured bicuishe worth knowing
