Verdict
Cupreata bottled under 48% almost always reads thin; Mauthia's 50% lets the Guerrero character show up as the headline rather than a whisper. This is the sort of bottle we'd put next to Mal Bien's cupreata and let the drinker choose. Track it down if you're building out a regional flight, it's an honest piece of Guerrero at a fair bracket.
Cupreata wants proof. Mauthia understood the assignment
Tasting notes
Nose: Crushed mint, wet slate, tropical fruit rind, a high-toned pine resin
Palate: 50% gives the cupreata somewhere to stand, green, herbaceous, cleanly bitter, with a peppery mid-palate that arrives and stays
Finish: Dry, herbaceous, long
The bottom line
Hunt when building a Guerrero shelf
