Verdict
Mezcalero's No. 10 is the release where the project's discipline faltered. The Sierra Negra doesn't present with its usual weight, and the bottling feels under-considered, possibly a batch issue, possibly a producer choice that didn't land. Numbered series are supposed to reward close attention; No. 10 rewards skipping past it to the 15 and 20. 3.0
Every numbered series has a weak entry
Tasting notes
Nose: Faint smoke, a confused fruit note
Palate: Thin for Sierra Negra, a base usually known for density. 46.7% doesn't save it
Finish: Hollow, short
The bottom line
A skip the 10. The 5 and 15 both outperform
