Verdict
Espadín-tepextate is a Mezcalero standard – the series runs the pairing across numbers as a long experiment in how different maestros handle the same two agaves. No. 24 is the bottle where Cosme Hernández's palenque lands its version cleanly: the tepextate gets enough structural spine, the espadín stays legible. Not the most exciting entry in the series; one of the most reliable.
A Mezcalero that demonstrates the series' consistency
Tasting notes
Nose: Wildflower. Then cooked agave, warm stone, dry herb
Palate: The tepextate's herbal lift sits on top of espadín's structure; balanced and aromatic at 46.4%
Finish: Drying, cooling – very long
The bottom line
A reliable Mezcalero
