Verdict
Margarito Cortés is one of the Mezcalosfera catalog's anchor maestros, and this three-wild ensamble is among his most persuasive releases. The lower proof is deliberate and works – the aromatic complexity of the blend reads more clearly at 45% than it would at 50%. A category-reference Mezcalosfera bottle. If it's on the shelf, take it.
Margarito Cortés bottles ensambles the way other maestros bottle manifestos
Tasting notes
Nose: Honey. Then wet limestone, ripe melon, wildflower, a fine mineral dust
Palate: 45.27% with tobalá's round tropical character and the two karwinskiis' dry limestone spine in near-perfect conversation – the ensamble is less about proof muscle and more about aromatic balance at a clarifying spec
Finish: Floral, slate-tinged. Very long
The bottom line
Don't pass. Reference Mezcalosfera
