Verdict
Infused mezcals are almost universally a bad idea, the base spirit gets buried and the flavor becomes the point. Mezcalosfera's mango-habanero release avoids both failures because Margarito Cortés's espadín is strong enough to remain legible under the additions, and the proof keeps the whole thing lifted. Hunt a bottle if unusual is your lane.
Flavored mezcal usually fails. This one is the exception that proves Margarito Cortés can do anything
Tasting notes
Nose: Ripe mango with a clean habanero heat, cooked agave underneath
Palate: 53.1% with the fruit and chile both present, the habanero's heat is integrated rather than additive, and Cortés's espadín base holds structure under both
Finish: Fruity, lingering chile heat
The bottom line
Hunt it if curious about infused mezcal done right
