Verdict
Mezcalosfera's con cacao release is Margarito Cortés using the pechuga technique on cacao beans, and the result is one of the more successful flavored-distillation experiments in the category, the chocolate is from the distillation, not a macerate, and the difference shows. Pour it for anyone who finds traditional pechuga too rich; hunt it if you like the format pushed.
Cacao-distilled espadín is the pechuga format for people who don't want the bird
Tasting notes
Nose: Dark chocolate with cooked agave
Palate: 52.34% with the cacao integrated into the distillation rather than added after, the chocolate note sits as a deepening of the espadín rather than a flavor layered on top
Finish: Chocolate-deep, mineral. Long
The bottom line
Worth chasing. Flavored-distillation done right
