- Price: $70 ($)
Verdict
A careful espadín from one of Mezcalosfera's steady maestros, pleasant enough, but the bottle that exists to make the rest of the range look sharper. At 44% it runs low for the line's usual specs, and the espadín character gets there without ever raising its voice. Skip it if the Cortés madrecuishe or tobalá-madrecuishe are on the same shelf; those are the Mezcalosferas that argue for the importer.
Mezcalosfera's espadín releases are the accessible tier
Tasting notes
Nose: A light smoke, faint citrus
Palate: Clean and mineral at 44% – lower proof than most Mezcalosfera releases, but the agave character holds
Finish: Dry, clean – medium-long
The bottom line
Entry-level Mezcalosfera done right
