Job Cortés on madrecuishe at 46.52% – clean but modest

- Agave: Madrecuishe
- ABV: 46.52%
- Price: $70 ($$)
Verdict
Don Job Cortés is a solid maestro whose madrecuishe here lands a step below the reference versions (Memorable, Mezcalero Special Bottling No. 1) – same agave, same format, a proof that doesn't quite let the karwinskii structure stand. Pour for completionists; climb to the reference bottles for the ceiling.
Madrecuishe at 46.5% is madrecuishe under-proofed
Tasting notes
Nose: Dry grass – then wet slate, green apple
Palate: 46.52% with madrecuishe presented cleanly but without the weight the agave really asks for, this reads as a careful bottle from a maestro whose ceiling is elsewhere
Finish: Mineral, clean
The bottom line
Worth pouring. Memorable Madrecuishe or Mezcalero SB1 for ceiling
