Verdict
This is the NETA format at its most rewarding – two maestros, two agaves, one ensamble that each component could not have produced alone. Hermógenes Vasquez and Jorge Vásquez Aquino get equal credit in the Miahuatlán register. Two reviewers at 5.0; our read rolls a half-step down only because we want more batches to reference. Pair with a coyote solo to feel what this bottle's family tree looks like.
Karwinskii plus rhodacantha is a textbook pairing. NETA writes the textbook
Tasting notes
Nose: Dry grass, warm citrus peel, wet stone, faint pine
Palate: 47.5% ensamble where barril's structural karwinskii meets mexicanito's leaner rhodacantha – long, mineral, drying in a way that makes the bottle replay itself
Finish: Mineral-herbal, dry. Very long
The bottom line
Worth grabbing when you find it. A small-release worth the hunt
