Verdict

NETA's espadín releases are priced high for espadín but consistently well-made, what you pay for is one-palenque transparency and high-proof production discipline. Delfino Sozimo Jarquin's batch doesn't rewrite the rules; it demonstrates them at 51.5%, which is a producer's way of arguing that espadín at serious proof can sit next to wild agaves. Consensus 4.0 is generous; we'd land at 3.5. The Ranulfo García Pacheco release elsewhere in the NETA range is the better espadín.

Good espadín at a premium price is still good espadín

Tasting notes

Nose: Warm stone, then cooked agave, faint herbal edge

Palate: Clean and mineral at 51.5% – Delfino's style is precise, not showy

Finish: Dry, warm. Stays long

The bottom line

Fine premium espadín. The Ranulfo García Pacheco release is better
