Verdict
Each named-maestro madrecuishe under the Palenqueros label is its own argument, and Martínez's is the one that reads most generously. Softer than Valente García's take, sweeter than the house baseline, distinctly someone's rather than anyone's. Reach for it as the companion bottle in a side-by-side with another single-palenque madrecuishe to hear how the species bends under different hands.
Named-maestro madrecuishe is how you learn that karwinskii isn't one thing
Tasting notes
Nose: Wet stone with saline, dark honey
Palate: 48.8% and legibly Martínez, a softer touch than the house madrecuishe, with more sweetness forward and the mineral-saline showing up in the mid-palate rather than the entry
Finish: River rock, quietly warm. Stays long
The bottom line
Buy. Essential for named-maestro study
