Verdict
Peloton de la Muerte has one of the more striking bottle designs in the category and one of the more average juices. At 41% the espadín is cleanly made but never quite arrives, and the brand's visual confidence doesn't translate to the glass. Skip toward Vida, Banhez, or any of the named-producer mid-shelf bottles in this batch.
A bottle that spent more budget on its label than its proof
Tasting notes
Nose: Light smoke with faint sweetness
Palate: 41% of clean but thin espadín – the proof tells you this is a rail bottle dressed up for the shelf
Finish: Clean, mildly sweet. Stays short
The bottom line
Skip. The bottle is better than the mezcal
