Verdict
Most commercial tobalá lands at 45-47% because the category wants prettiness and easy drinking. Pluma Negra goes the other way, and the result is a tobalá that can hold a room. We'd put it alongside Dixeebe's high-proof work as the case for tobalá with actual architecture. Buy it if you want the serious end of the plant.
Tobalá at 52% refuses to be cute about it
Tasting notes
Nose: Orange blossom, cooked sugar
Palate: Floral with backbone. 52% on potatorum is higher than fashion dictates, and the proof choice shows up as structural depth rather than heat. Pluma Negra's tobalá is the bottle that earns its shelf space on weight, not perfume
Finish: Long, floral, clean
The bottom line
Worth owning. Tobalá with structure
