Verdict
Tobalá is hard to do badly – the plant is forgiving, and most producers find its floral signature without effort. Quiereme Mucho's tobalá reads flat in a way that's difficult to explain. The community consensus (2.1) suggests this isn't just our bottle. Skip it. For a starter tobalá, reach for Banhez Tobalá or Por Lo Bueno's version.
A tobalá that makes you wonder if the bottle was damaged in transit
Tasting notes
Nose: Muted floral up front. A strange vegetal note, faint plastic underneath
Palate: Thin and slightly off-register. Something in the bottle reads wrong for tobalá – not the expected floral-and-mineral, but a flat middle that suggests either a bad batch or a young plant distilled too early. 45-47% proof doesn't help
Finish: Flat, fading
The bottom line
Skip it. Something's off
