Verdict

Arroqueño is a weight agave, the grown-in-highlands cousin of tequilana-weber, with bodyweight that rewards proof. Rambha's 50% is exactly the commitment the plant asks for. We'd put it among the more serious arroqueño bottlings on the US market, alongside Vago's and Real Minero's. Track it; the Rambha catalog is a sleeper.

Arroqueño at 50% is the plant getting permission to be big

Tasting notes

Nose: Roasted agave sweetness up front. Dark fruit, cedar, a mineral undertone underneath

Palate: Heavy, layered, completely arroqueño. 50% is the proof where the plant's famous weight finally reads as structure rather than just density. Rambha commits

Finish: Sweet-to-stone, warm

The bottom line

Buy it. Arroqueño at the weight it wants
