Verdict
The 4.6 consensus matches our read. This is Real Minero in full form – the Ángeles family's discipline applied to an ambitious two-karwinskii ensamble, at the production weight that clay-still and 53.3% proof can deliver. Scarce, expensive, earned. Barril and cuishe in one bottle is a karwinskii family reunion; Real Minero's rendering keeps both agaves legible without letting either crowd out the other. Reference work.
Real Minero bottles the upper bound of what the clay still can do
Tasting notes
Nose: Hot clay, dark fruit, pepper, a cured-meat undertone
Palate: Enormously textured – the clay-still signature plus 53.3% proof plus two demanding wild agaves. Every sip is dense
Finish: Saline, warming
The bottom line
A reference ensamble. Buy when available
