Verdict
Edgar Ángeles ensembles largo and becuela because they rhyme – both lean, both mineral, both uninterested in sweetness. 50.78% is enough proof to let the marmorata character carry. If you've loved the standalone Real Minero Becuela and wondered what a friend would do to it, this is the answer. Jolgorio does similar marmorata-karwinskii work at a softer proof; we prefer Real Minero's version.
Two agaves that share an interest in minerals
Tasting notes
Nose: Wet stone, olive brine, cooked agave, a thread of citrus peel
Palate: Lean and saline at 50.78%, the becuela's marine signature doing the heavy lifting while largo keeps the vegetal spine upright. Mineral, not plush
Finish: Drying, saline – long
The bottom line
A quiet Real Minero – rewards attention
