Verdict
Marteño and coyota are rare enough single-variety that pairing them sounds like a stunt; Real Minero's rendering makes the stunt sound like the only reasonable thing to do. Two agaves, one register, honey, lavender, hot slate – and the Ángeles family's discipline shows as coherence. Every flavor is load-bearing. One of the category's reference ensambles.
The rare ensamble where the whole exceeds the parts
Tasting notes
Nose: Dark honey, lavender, hot slate, dry herb
Palate: Massively complex at 49.3% – the two agaves find a shared register that sounds singular
Finish: Unending. Mineral, floral, cooling
The bottom line
