Verdict
Rey Campero's arroqueño is hard to find outside Mexico because the plant's yield is small and the brand has other priorities. When you do find it, it's one of the cleaner mid-tier arroqueños in distribution – not quite Real Minero's or Lalocura's, but well clear of Bozal and most of the second shelf. Rómulo Sánchez Parada doesn't oversell the agave.
Arroqueño the way the agave wants to be bottled
Tasting notes
Nose: Dark honey with roasted stone, wildflower
Palate: Dense and warm, arroqueño's characteristic heft doing the structural work. Rómulo Sánchez Parada's intent shows through – tight fermentation, no sanding
Finish: Mineral, warming. Long
The bottom line
Worth tracking – arroqueño at this price point isn't everywhere
