Verdict
Rey Campero uses limited releases to test agaves the brand wouldn't bottle at scale, and coyote is one of the wins. 48.7% is the right proof to let the agave's vegetal character carry, and the bottle carries as a committed experiment rather than a novelty. Pick it over Bozal's coyote – this is cleaner.
The Rey Campero experimental release that pays off
Tasting notes
Nose: Green pepper up front. Cooked agave, wet stone, a lift of mint underneath
Palate: Coyote's less-familiar profile reading as cleaner and more vegetal than the flagship Rey Campero releases. Rómulo Sánchez Parada keeps the line tight; medium-weight at 48.7%
Finish: Herbal, mineral – long
The bottom line
Worth it if you see it – Rey Campero's better small releases are in this tier
