A two-agave ensamble that lets each one breathe

Verdict
Rey Campero's two-agave ensambles argue for restraint – this one lets tepextate's 25-year slow-build and mexicano's green precision talk to each other instead of melting into generic wild-agave perfume. At 52.3% the composition earns the proof rather than hiding behind it. Reach for this over any four-agave blend from Jolgorio or Lalocura in the same tier; the conversation is more legible here. Consensus 4.0 is earned.
A small ensamble is a surer ensamble
Tasting notes
Nose: Wildflower, green pepper, mineral damp, white pepper
Palate: Tepextate's florality meeting mexicano's savory vegetal spine in balance, with the higher proof giving both agaves structural room rather than forcing them into a shared middle register; bright and herbal at 52.3%
Finish: Cooling, drying, with a slow floral fade. Stays very long
The bottom line
A confident ensamble. Better than most wild-agave singles at similar money
