Verdict
Tepextate at 46.7%, jabalí at 46.7% – both agaves want more proof than that, and Leonardo Hernández's San Baltazar Guélavila concentration is what makes the bottle legible. The result carries as a small-batch limited release rather than a reference, but it's a legitimate wild-agave ensamble at a working price. Pick the Rey Campero Jabalí-Tepextate (48%) first; come here second.
Tepextate and jabalí at 46.7% – the concentration has to come from somewhere else
Tasting notes
Nose: Orchid with wet stone, wildflower, cooked agave
Palate: Layered at 46.7%, tepextate's floral reach supporting jabalí's foamy wild texture. 46.7% is under the usual proof floor for both agaves; Don Leonardo's ferment makes it work
Finish: Long, floral, mineral
The bottom line
A working wild ensamble – Rezpiral at a working price
