Verdict
Mario Vásquez's tobalá is the Rezpiral bottle you'd pour to the friend who doesn't collect and won't notice the difference. That's not an insult, it's a real job in a catalog. But if you're paying the Rezpiral markup, you're paying for Luis Antonio's or Berta's eloquence. This one is well-made and shy.
A competent tobalá from a catalog that sells on eloquence
Tasting notes
Nose: Crushed green apple, wet stone, light pepper
Palate: Clean mid-body at 46%, correct tobalá shape, no surprises in either direction. The bottle does what it says on the label
Finish: Dry, faint floral. Stays medium
The bottom line
Pass unless the others are out of stock
