Verdict
Berta Vásquez's tobalá–tobaziche lands in the exact pocket this karwinskii pairing should – tobaziche's bass note anchoring a tobalá that would otherwise float away. It's the same move Real Minero executes with barril and tobalá, just in a lighter register. Credible, specific, worth the shelf space.
Tobaziche gives the bottle a spine; tobalá gives it a face
Tasting notes
Nose: Honeyed green melon, then wet wood, faint struck flint, crushed mint
Palate: 47.4% holds the tobaziche's structural angularity while tobalá rounds the corners. Clear, assertive, built for a second pour
Finish: Cool, herb-and-stone – long
The bottom line
Smart pick if you want a Rezpiral ensamble under the flagship price
