Verdict
Arroqueño takes a decade in the field and rewards a distiller who doesn't rush the cut. Jorge Sánchez's version is patient the whole way – less flamboyant than Jolgorio's arroqueño, less showy than Real Minero's, but honest in both structure and proof. The bottle knows what it is. 4.0 holds.
Arroqueño distilled at 48 is arroqueño distilled to plan
Tasting notes
Nose: Brown sugar, then dark earth, dried orange peel, a faint leather
Palate: 48.62% is exactly the proof arroqueño demands; the agave's slow-cooked sweetness gets room to pool in the mid-palate, with the wild bitter edge underneath
Finish: Warming, earthy – long
The bottom line
A clean, reasonably-priced entry to arroqueño
