Verdict
Largo is the forgotten karwinskii; most producers sub in tobaziche because largo is harder to source. Félix Cruz's largo-espadín ensamble shows why it was worth finding. This is the bottle in the Sabelotodo lineup to hunt – it's Jolgorio Largo's register at a better-behaved price. 5.0
Largo-espadín when a producer cares is one of mezcal's quiet masterpieces
Tasting notes
Nose: Tropical fruit, then crushed herb, wet stone, faint lime blossom
Palate: Largo's forward fruit riding espadín's ground-game at full proof – the bottle has a shape most espadín ensambles can't assemble. Real layering, real length
Finish: Bright, saline-citrus – very long
The bottom line
Worth taking. Largo at this craft level is rare
