Verdict
The Sacrificio reposado tries to meet tequila drinkers halfway and ends up nowhere. The private-label machinery of Total Wine is pointed in the wrong direction for mezcal as a craft. Consensus 2.9 is a half-step generous; reading at 2.5.
Reposado at 40% from a big-box SKU is a category of one, and the category is bad
Tasting notes
Nose: Vanilla with a muted smoke
Palate: 40% and two to twelve months in wood; the result sits as a tequila reposado with a smoke garnish. Bland is the generous word
Finish: Sweet, evaporative
The bottom line
Skip. Any Scorpion reposado is a better use of the same money
