Se Busca Mezcal Reposado
Reposado at 40%. A category of diminishing returns

- Region: San Juan del Rio, Oaxaca
- Agave: Espadin
- ABV: 40%
- Price: $50 ($)
Verdict
Se Busca's reposado falls into the commercial-proof-aged mezcal gray zone – not structured enough for a sipping añejo, not bright enough for a cocktail joven. The López Sosa craft deserves better proof. Consensus 2.5 stands.
The middle bottle in a three-bottle lineup is often the hardest to love
Tasting notes
Nose: Soft vanilla – then cooked agave, light smoke
Palate: 40% and a short rest; the bottle hits as neither fully aged nor fully joven. Muddy middle
Finish: Sweet, faint wood – medium
The bottom line
Skip. Buy the family añejo or skip the line
