Verdict
Tepextate takes a quarter-century to mature and demands a bottle that justifies the wait. Sentir's gets the proof right at 49% – below that threshold the agave undersells itself, but the overall profile plays it too safe. For tepextate that earns its age, climb to Real Minero or Mezcalosfera. This one is the floor, not the answer.
A decent tepextate, which is not what 25 years in the ground asks for
Tasting notes
Nose: Green pepper with wet moss
Palate: 49% lets the tepextate speak at full volume, bell pepper, crushed herb, a mineral through-line, but the copper distillation softens the architecture this agave usually insists on
Finish: Medium-long, peppery, lightly bitter
The bottom line
Proof honors the agave. The rest is competent, not memorable
