Verdict

Nicolás García Gutiérrez blends cuishe and coyote the way a good chef pairs ingredients – each agave does one thing the other can't. San Luis Amatlán's mineral-rich soil gives both a through-line, and the refrescador still contributes texture most copper bottles lack. For the price, this out-delivers most single-agave karwinskii bottles on the shelf.

Two karwinskii in one bottle – the ensamble format earning its keep

Tasting notes

Nose: Wet moss, green herb, stone fruit, a faint anise lift

Palate: 50% feels measured – the cuishe's mineral weight and the coyote's sweeter lift layered through a refrescador's oilier texture, with San Luis Amatlán's ground readable underneath

Finish: Slate-tinged, herbal – long

The bottom line

The karwinskii ensamble to start with. Worth the shelf space
