Verdict

Coyote sits in the karwinskii shadow of cuishe and madrecuishe, and Rafa García's version makes the case that the under-known cousin deserves the same attention. The clay-pot weight and 50% proof combine into a bottle that reads Sola-de-Vega-first, coyote-second. That's the right hierarchy – buy it alongside a Real Minero cuishe for the comparison.

Coyote at 50% in clay – the architecture the agave asks for

Tasting notes

Nose: Wet stone, then green herb, stone fruit, a mineral smoke

Palate: 50% and clay pot give the coyote karwinskii structure – slate-tinged through-line, herbal lift, a stone-fruit sweetness the proof holds aloft

Finish: Mineral, herbal – long

The bottom line

Worth owning. Coyote at its proper proof
