Verdict
Puntas bottlings are experiments – the first-cut concentrate, undiluted. Rafa García's coyote puntas has real karwinskii character but the 64.5% occasionally drowns what the regular-proof bottle does with more grace. It's a technique demonstration more than a drinking bottle. Reach for the 50% coyote first; save this one for late-night tasting flights.
Puntas that argues with itself – a tall bottle for committed drinkers
Tasting notes
Nose: Wet stone concentrate, green herb, mineral alcohol, a faint fruit
Palate: 64.5% compresses everything – the coyote's limestone and herbal profile intensified to a point where the agave starts arguing with its own proof
Finish: Hot, slate-tinged – very long
The bottom line
An experimental pour. Buy the 50% coyote first
