Verdict
Mexicano might be Rafa García's most under-celebrated bottle, the arroqueño gets the chocolate-and-weight press, but the mexicano does the pepper-and-pear work with the same discipline. At 50% and clay-distilled, this stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Real Minero and Siete Misterios versions.
Mexicano at its cleanest proof and weight – exactly as the agave asks
Tasting notes
Nose: Cooked pear, white pepper, wet clay
Palate: 50% and clay pot give this the textural weight mexicano rewards, pepper-and-pear signature up top, mineral depth through the middle, clay thread under everything
Finish: Peppery, river rock, very long
